The Hobie Catamaran Fleet 51 is a chartered NAHCA Division II Hobie Fleet. Event participation is open to all makes of catamarans. Catamaran ownership is not a prerequisite for Fleet membership. We welcome anybody who is interested in sailing catamarans to join us. You’ll find us on the Boulder “Sail” Beach, (just north of the new Lake Mead Marina in Hemenway Harbor). Chances are on any given weekend, that you’ll find a friendly group of people who enjoy sharing our sport. Whether you’ve sailed before, or always dreamed about it, you can get started by just saying hello.
Our fleet hosts a variety of sailing and social events. During the warmer months “Full Moon” sails are a fleet favorite. Members meet in the early evening hours, set up their boats, and settle in for an evening of camping, food, drinks and fun. Finally, guided by the full moon, a friendly race ensues.
Membership is simple and at $20.00 per year (with catamaran) $10.00 (without - social) we think membership is a bargain. Children are always welcome and if your dog has dreams of swimming after tennis balls by all means bring him along.
